Lee McKenzie tutors guitar, harmonica, singing and song-writing and advocates a broader musicianship approach for learning how to express, create, jam & improvise. He believes that effective understanding of improvisation enables players to enjoy jamming and performing live with more confidence. He has been playing guitar over 20 years, and in 2012 completed a Diploma in Music Production & Performance in his home country, New Zealand. He has been teaching guitar for over 7 years and plays in several bands in a range of styles from rock to funk to folk.
In this course, Lee will give intermediate guitar players a selection of tools designed to enable them to express, interpret and adapt musical information. The course covers the fundamentals of improvisation, interpretation of chord progressions, voicing options for different scenarios (eg when playing solo or in a band) and music theory for clear communication with other musicians. The content is delivered through six clear and concise video lessons of between 5-30 minutes in length and will show you loads of great ways to add creative and interpretive flair to your playing!
